The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection traditionally initiates campaigns in spring and autumn to clean up the land, improve and green the settlements. And this year was no exception: as part of the Year of Quality, the department announced the environmental campaign “Together for a Green Belarus!”
Thanks to the active participation of citizens in cities and towns, agro-towns and villages of our country, the area of green areas is steadily growing. Thus, according to the results of the past year, 346,229 thousand trees and 517,084 thousand bushes were planted in the areas around houses and other territories of settlements. The area of green areas in cities and district centers of the republic increased by 901.11 hectares. The required level of greenery of 40% (which corresponds to environmental standards and rules) was achieved in 131 settlements.
This Saturday, April 6, the Ministry of Natural Resources will hold a single greening day in Belarus. We invite every resident and guest of our country to take an active part in this event and thereby make their contribution to the common big cause – preserving the nature of our native land. Together for a green Belarus!
