On June 13, 2024, for the purpose of environmental education and enlightenment, the Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a round table “Improving the control of pollutants into the atmosphere from thermal power plants, boilers and industrial installations.”
In the event, held in a hybrid format, the speakers were:
- Viktor Ivanovich Emelianchikov, Head of the initiative group, Candidate of Technical Sciences;
- Olga Fedorovna Opeyko, Associate Professor of the Department "Electric Drive and Automation of industrial installations and technical complexes" BNTU Candidate of Technical Sciences.
More than 40 organizations (56 people) took part in the round table, including representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Energy, heating networks, education, industry, BelGIM, etc.
The participants were presented with a comparative analysis of the situation with installed automated control systems (ACS) for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere from thermal power plants, boiler houses and industrial installations in the Republic of Belarus and in the Russian Federation, taking into account the difference in requirements for the design and installation of emission control systems in the TNPA of these countries. The issues of the need to make changes to the EcoNiP were discussed 17.08.06-001-2022 “Environmental protection and environmental management. Atmospheric air (including the ozone layer). Environmental safety requirements in the field of atmospheric air protection”. During the discussion, the expediency of replacing the emission control system with Russian stationary gas analyzers (gas analyzer MAK-2000, OPTOGAZ-500), as well as other pressing problematic issues of protecting the atmospheric layer from pollutants, was considered.
The round table facilitated the exchange of experience, the establishment of partnerships and increased awareness of the problem of atmospheric pollution as a result of industrial activities and solutions.
