Today, Minister Sergei Maslyak discussed in detail with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Alexander Rogozhnik the current cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Tomsk Region of the Russian Federation, as well as issues of implementing national domestic and foreign policies in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources.
The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources is the official assigned to two Russian regions – the Tomsk Region and the Altai Republic.
The head of the environmental protection agency informed the Belarusian Ambassador about the fifth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Tomsk Region that will be held in Tomsk on August 29 this year. The event will be chaired by Minister Sergei Maslyak and Governor of the Tomsk Region Vladimir Mazur with the wide participation of representatives of Russian and Belarusian business.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed mechanisms for deepening the level of interstate cooperation on all issues of mutual interest, as well as increasing export deliveries of Belarusian products to the Russian region.
During the meeting, the head of the environmental protection agency also informed the Ambassador about the work of the Ministry of Natural Resources at the sites of the Union State and the EAEU on environmental issues, including the work being carried out to ensure the safety of the transboundary UNESCO World Heritage Site “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”.
At the end of the negotiations, the head of the environmental protection agency and the head of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia decided to continue contacts at all levels to successfully implement the agreements reached.
