On the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Maslyak discussed with Ivana Zivkovic, Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States of the United Nations Development Programme, the current state and prospects for cooperation in the environmental sphere.
The head of the Belarusian environmental protection agency noted that UNDP is a long-standing and reliable partner of the Ministry of Natural Resources in the implementation of international technical assistance projects in the field of environmental protection.
During the negotiations, areas of interest to the Belarusian side were identified, including further work to resolve the problem of POPs in the Republic of Belarus.
The parties confirmed their mutual intention to continue working together, as well as to seek and use new forms and mechanisms of interaction.
At the end of the meeting, Sergey Maslyak and Ivana Zhivkovic expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
