The fifth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Tomsk Region was held in the city of Tomsk, chaired by Minister Sergei Maslyak and Governor of the Tomsk Region Vladimir Mazur.
The event was also attended by representatives of business circles, the scientific and academic environment, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. The meeting participants discussed the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the fourth meeting of the Working Group, as well as the visits of Tomsk delegations to the Republic of Belarus in December 2023 and June of this year.
Having noted with satisfaction the high level of interaction, Minister Sergei Maslyak and Tomsk Region Governor Vladimir Mazur drew the attention of those present to the need to move to a new level of cooperation, including through the creation of industrial cooperation projects.
Among the most promising areas of cooperation, the leaders of the Working Group identified the following:
- acquisition of equipment from leading Belarusian enterprises, such as MAZ, MTZ, AMKODOR, Minsk Motor Plant, Belkommunmash, Gomselmash, etc.;
- creation of a multi-brand service center for the Belarusian industry in the Tomsk region;
- conducting scientific research in the field of low-tonnage chemistry;
- participation of Belarusian and Russian specialists in retraining and advanced training programs, including the organization of internships at universities and enterprises of the parties;
- preparation of projects and programs of the Union State in the field of industrial microelectronics;
- exchange of experience in the development of waste management schemes, sorting, recycling of secondary material resources, and construction of waste processing plants.
During the meeting, a presentation of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange as an effective instrument for trade with the Republic of Belarus was also held for the Tomsk side.
The participants of the fifth meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Tomsk Region of the Russian Federation agreed to continue active interaction in order to implement the agreements reached.
