The Center took part in the meeting of the PCEC

On August 28, the next meeting of the public coordinating environmental council under the Minsk City Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection took place.
The following issues were considered at the meeting:
The discussion was attended by the Deputy Director for Academic and Scientific Work of the Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel of the Ministry of Natural Resources Dmitry Melnichenko, members of the council, representatives of the administrations of the districts of Minsk, the State Institution “Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Control of Radioactive Pollution and Environmental Monitoring” and the State Institution “Minsk City Educational and Methodological Center for Physical Education of the Population”, public ecologists and others.
Those present paid special attention to the Mobility Week and Car-Free Day in Minsk. These events have become traditional for the capital and are being held for the ninth year in a row.
As part of the Mobility Week, a number of events are planned to be held in all administrative districts of Minsk, including the exhibition “History of Electric Transport” and the campaign “To Work by Bicycle!”, a series of environmental master classes as part of the competition “Pershy Rovar”, etc.
The Mobility Week will end on September 22 with a large-scale city environmental campaign “Car-Free Day “Belarus for Clean Air!” The events will take place on the territory of the Hugo Chavez Park from 13:00 to 20:00. There will be various activity zones and environmental sites, including for children, exhibitions of environmentally friendly personal mobility and electric transport, a school for driving electric scooters and other electric transport, etc.
The car-free day will end at 20:00 with the final race using environmentally friendly modes of transport along the route Kazimirovskaya St. – Kamennogorskaya St. – Lyutsinskaya St. – Kolesnikova St. with the participation of leaders and specialists of organizations and departments, district administrations of the capital and all interested parties.
