On Sunday, September 22, the Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel of the Ministry of Natural Resources took part in the city environmental campaign “Car-Free Day “Belarus for Clean Air!”. This event is held as part of the Mobility Week and is aimed at drawing attention to the problem of air pollution.
“Car-Free Day” is an event that encourages people to give up using personal transport for at least one day.
The aim of the event is to reduce the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improve air quality in cities.
The main location of the republican action “Car-Free Day” in 2024 was the territory of the Hugo Chavez Park in the Frunzensky district of Minsk.
The center, as a participant in the event, presented an exhibition exhibit of a wind power plant-exercise bike, which provided children with the opportunity to generate electricity in a playful manner.
The Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Maslyak and honorary guests visited the location of the Center.
The finale of the environmental festival “Car-Free Day “Belarus for Clean Air” in the capital was a race on personal mobility vehicles with festive lighting, in which the Center’s employees took part.
Employees of the State Environmental Expertise Departments of the Mogilev Region and the Gomel Region joined in the Car-Free Day campaign.
