On October 19, 2024, a large-scale campaign to clean up the land, improve and plant greenery “Together for a Green Belarus!” will be held throughout Belarus. The event, organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, is designed not only to improve the environmental situation, but also to unite the efforts of citizens in caring for nature.
The Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel of the Ministry of Natural Resources (hereinafter referred to as the Center) traditionally joined the campaign. More than 110 employees planted 273 trees in different parts of the country, which became a significant contribution to the greening of urban areas and the improvement of their ecological condition.
Each region makes its own unique contribution to the campaign. For example, in the capital, on the Slepyanskaya water system, employees removed fallen leaves and planted willows, which will help preserve the nature of the reservoir and create a cozy green area for walks. In Brest, on public lands near kindergarten No. 49, thujas appeared, and in Vitebsk, Tereshkova Street is now decorated with rowan trees.
The campaign also covers smaller towns. In Soligorsk, birches were planted in the Kovaleva Loza area, in Lida, trees appeared in the park on Sovetskaya Street, and in Smorgon, according to the plan, pines were planted on the territory of the local forestry.
The campaign “Together for a Green Belarus!” is designed not only to improve the ecology, to cultivate a responsible attitude towards the environment, but also to unite people, strengthening their connection with nature and with each other. The improvement of public spaces becomes not only a concern for nature, but also an important step towards creating a sustainable and harmonious society.
