The Department of International Cooperation, Translations and Public Relations of the State Educational Institution “Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel” of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus has been providing written translation services since 2018, specializing in environmental, technical and legal texts.

Cost of translation services
Written translation is calculated on the principle of 1 standard page of text (1800 characters with spaces) of the original document. The translation rate of standard translation pages per day for translation from/into English is 10 standard pages.
When providing translation services for complex texts (specialized scientific, technical and legal literature in the field of environmental protection, radiation safety, economics and finance, biology and medicine, etc.) and in a short time (more than 10 pages per working day), surcharges are applied to the current tariff.

One accounting page is one conventional page of text provided for translation, with a volume of 1800 (one thousand eight hundred) printed characters, including spaces, punctuation marks, numbers and any other symbols.
In case of rendering urgent-complex written translation services, i.e. when providing for translation a document the volume of which exceeds the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day and is characterized by lexical, grammatical, stylistic and graphic complexity, the amount of the applied surcharge to the cost of written translation is established by summing up the surcharges for complexity and urgency, determined in accordance with the above-mentioned points of the price list. The calculation of the cost of services using surcharges for both urgency and complexity of translation is made for the entire volume of translation

Translations are considered urgent if their execution requires additional time from the translator due to the fact that the number of standard pages of the text provided for translation exceeds the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day. The category of urgency of the translation is determined as follows:
- 1st category of urgency – with the application of a 15% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, for the translation of 1 page in excess of the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day;
- 2nd category of urgency – with the application of a 25% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, for the translation of 2 pages in excess of the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day;
- 3rd category of urgency – with the application of a 30% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, for the translation of 3 pages in excess of the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day;
- 4th category of urgency – with the application of a 90% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, for the translation of more than 3 pages (4 pages or more) in excess of the established translation rate of standard translation pages per day.
When calculating the cost of services using surcharges for urgent translation, the cost is calculated starting from the first page in excess of the translation rate of standard translation pages per day.

Translations are considered complex if their execution requires additional time from the translator due to the lexical, grammatical, stylistic and graphic complexity of the text provided for translation, which is determined by the following criteria:
- the presence of reference apparatus in the text;
- the presence of a bibliography in the text;
- the presence of tables, formulas, and mathematical symbols in the text;
- the presence in the text of drawings, diagrams, graphs, charts and other graphic elements containing text;
- the text of the document refers to texts of official business or scientific style;
- provision of the original document not in DOC/DOCX format, including in paper or scanned form;
- complex formatting of a document with a volume of more than 10 accounting pages (the presence of sections, automatic table of contents, headers and footers);
- the presence of formatted text in the document (italics, bold, underline, etc.) in a volume of more than 300 printed characters per standard page;
- the presence in the text of special (industry-specific) vocabulary, terms, abbreviations, the lexical correspondence of which can be found in general and specialized dictionaries;
- the presence in the text of highly specialized and non-equivalent vocabulary, terms, abbreviations, the translation of which requires searching for matches in specialized literature, encyclopedias and reference books (including on the Internet), as well as high qualifications, significant experience and (or) specialized knowledge of the translator.
The translation complexity category is determined as follows:
- 1st category of complexity – with the application of a 15% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, if the text provided for translation meets 2 (two) of the above criteria;
- 2nd category of complexity – with the application of a 25% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, if the text provided for translation meets 3 (three) of the above criteria;
- 3rd category of complexity – with the application of a 30% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, if the text provided for translation meets 4 (four) of the above criteria;
- 4th category of complexity – with the application of a 90% surcharge to the cost set for 1 page according to the translation rate of standard translation pages per day, if the text provided for translation meets 5 (five) or more of the above criteria.
