The 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Minskzelenstroy UP was solemnly celebrated in the Palace of the Republic on July 18. The Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergei Maslyak took part in the ceremony. The Minskzelenstroy team gathered in the Small Hall of the Palace, and veterans of the enterprise and former managers were also present.
“Over the 90 years of its existence, the organization has done a lot for the city and Belarus. If we recall the statistical figures for 2023, 347 thousand trees were planted in the country, of which 14% belong to Minsk. About 500 thousand bushes were planted, of which 68% are in Minsk. Of the 20 million flowers planted in the country, 50% are in the capital. From this we understand that the capital’s authorities pay serious attention to this, because greening is also a trend. Both citizens and our guests can appreciate this work. Today, cleanliness and improvement are impossible without greening,” the Minister noted.
In his congratulations, the head of the environmental protection agency also emphasized that UP Minskzelenstroy is a proven, long-standing partner of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection: “We can say with confidence that the distinctive features of the enterprise’s employees are professionalism, a high degree of responsibility for the work assigned, dedication to their work and conscientious fulfillment of assigned tasks.”
In a solemn ceremony, for his significant personal contribution to the development of green construction in the city of Minsk and on the occasion of the anniversary, Sergei Maslyak presented an honorary certificate from the ministry to the leading engineer of the plant protection section of the plant protection and maintenance department of urban improvement facilities Natalia Golovka and gratitude to the head of the department for the maintenance and improvement of green facilities of the service for the improvement and maintenance of green facilities Ekaterina Moroz.

In honor of the landmark date, 60 of the best employees of the enterprise were awarded. These are managers, foremen and workers of the green economy. The production municipal unitary enterprise “Minskzelenstroy” is the largest organization in Belarus for landscaping and improvement. The work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of SNiP, using advanced technologies, the latest building materials, a variety of planting material, lawn grass seeds of optimal composition and rolled lawns of our own production. The founder of the UP “Minskzelenstroy” is the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The system of the UP Minskzelenstroy includes subsidiaries: UP Minskskoye Lesoparkovoye Khozyaistvo, UP Brovki Minskzelenstroya, as well as 9 enterprises of the UP Zelenstroy of the administrative districts of Minsk, which are part of the structure of the administrations of the districts of Minsk.
The enterprises of the UP Minskzelenstroy system are responsible for public facilities in Minsk: 34 parks and forest parks, 160 squares, 28 boulevards, green areas along the streets, the embankment of the Svisloch River, etc., with a total area of 7,172.9 hectares, as well as 10,052.9 hectares of forests, including 5,829 hectares of urban and 93.6 hectares of beaches with adjacent landscaped areas.
Every year in Minsk, the enterprises of the Minskzelenstroy UP and the Zelenstroy UP of the administrative districts of Minsk plant about 35 thousand trees, more than 400 thousand bushes and about 2 million flowers, and arrange more than 95 hectares of lawns. Technologies for the installation of modern landscaping elements have been mastered: gabions, structures for vertical landscaping, production and installation of various types of small architectural forms.
