Today, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Maslyak held a meeting with the Minister of Digital and Technological Development of the Sakhalin Region of the Russian Federation Alexander Snegirev.
The parties shared their experience in fulfilling international obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, implementing the climate agenda, introducing the principles of a low-carbon economy, operating a system for monitoring and verifying greenhouse gas emissions, and discussed prospects for the development of bilateral Belarusian-Russian relations in a wide range of areas in the field of environmental protection.
In order to ensure more effective practical cooperation, Sergei Maslyak and Alexander Snegirev agreed to develop a bilateral agreement indicating specific events of mutual interest.
