We will not be mistaken if we say that the most important thing is order on your land, and spring is the best time for the annual cleaning after the winter season. It is during this period that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection traditionally announces environmental actions and campaigns to clean up the land, improve and green it. The campaign period this year is from March 1 to May 8.
Some people have started general cleaning of the territories entrusted to them since the first days of March, while others need an additional “reminder”. In order to intensify work on restoring order on the land, the Ministry of Natural Resources system is conducting massive control and analytical activities.
Particular attention is paid to the condition of the areas along railways, right-of-ways, roadside strips, stopping points along national and local highways, publicly accessible areas of populated areas, garden associations, garage cooperatives, agricultural enterprises and organizations, and areas of the state forest fund. Compliance with municipal waste management schemes, the condition of container sites, and the availability of containers for separate waste collection are checked.
From March 1 to March 31 of this year, territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources conducted more than 1,700 control and analytical activities, as a result of which about 10 thousand violations of environmental legislation were identified.
In order to eliminate the identified violations, more than 1,000 orders and recommendations were issued to the guilty parties, and about 1,200 information letters were sent. More than 150 fines were imposed on the guilty parties for a total of about 240 thousand rubles, 391 guilty parties were released from administrative liability with a warning.
In addition, in order to compensate for damage caused to the environment, about 80 claims were filed for a total amount of over 145 thousand rubles.
As of March 31, more than 4.5 thousand identified violations have been eliminated. The work of the Ministry of Natural Resources system to restore order on the land will continue.
