Today, a meeting of the advisory council for the development of the geological exploration industry and subsoil use under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus was held at the state educational institution “Republican Center for State Environmental Expertise, Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel”.
The opening speech was given by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Maslyak. He emphasized the importance of the issues under discussion for the sustainable development of geological exploration in the country and focused on the need for effective interaction between all participants in the process.
During the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee Dmitry Basko made a speech. Then Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Viktor Galanov presented a report on the progress of implementing Government instructions and geological exploration work carried out in 2024-2025. He noted that current initiatives are aimed at modernizing geological exploration processes and ensuring an integrated approach to the use of subsoil.
Vasily Kolb, Head of the Main Directorate of Natural Resources of the Ministry of Natural Resources, presented promising areas of geological exploration of the subsoil for 2026-2030. In his speech, he focused on innovative research methods and the need to integrate new technologies into practice.
Petr Povzhik, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Deputy Director General for Geology of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Production Association “Belorusneft”, spoke about the interaction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the enterprise in terms of hydrocarbon work. He shared successful experience of cooperation and outlined key projects that are at the implementation stage. Also taking part in the discussion was Alexander Lyakhov, Director General of PO “Belorusneft”, who joined the meeting via video link. His comments and suggestions significantly enriched the discussion on the issues under consideration.
The meeting was concluded by the General Director of the State Enterprise “Scientific and Production Center for Geology” Vladimir Melnikov, who discussed with those present the status and development prospects of his institution.
The meeting of the advisory council on the development of the geological exploration industry and subsoil use became a platform for discussing current issues and developing recommendations for the further development of the geological exploration industry in Belarus.
