
Geologist Mikhail Gromyko is considered the founder of Belarusian oil exploration. Back in 1930, he and geographer Nikolai Arbuzkin began searching for oil in the Rechitsa district. In order to find possible deposits, scientists drew up a plan for exploration work and developed a special questionnaire for local residents.
