In accordance with the Government Resolution “On the procedure for assigning the State Quality Mark”, published on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus, the quality mark will not be assigned to weapons and military equipment, as well as tobacco products.
In addition, the State Quality Mark will not be assigned to food products obtained using genetically modified (transgenic) organisms, as well as products whose quality and safety have been the subject of complaints from representatives of state control (supervision) bodies during the year preceding the year in which the application for assigning the quality mark to the product was submitted.
The products applying for the State Quality Mark will be assessed by the State Standardization Committee according to safety criteria. The environmental parameters will be studied by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Innovation and technological effectiveness will be assessed, respectively, by the State Committee for Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences, and other organizations.
The manufacturer of a product that has received a quality mark will have the right to use it for two years in labeling, documentation and advertising, as well as to take advantage of incentive benefits and preferences provided when the mark is assigned.
In the event of non-compliance of products that have been assigned a quality mark with the quality and safety requirements, the State Standard is authorized, by decision of the commission, to prepare and submit to the Government a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers on depriving the manufacturer of the right to use the State Quality Mark and the corresponding benefits.
