Today, the International Round Table “Russia – Belarus: Together in the Fight against Nazism” was held at the Ryazan State University named after S.A. Yesenin (Russian Federation), dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and current issues of the development of the Union State in an online format.
Representatives of the following took part in the round table:
- University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
- Center for Analysis and Forecasting of Union Integration Processes;
- Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians of Russia;
- Public Chamber of the city of Ryazan;
- Institute of Social and Humanitarian Education of the Belarusian State Economic University;
- Lugansk State University named after V. Dahl and others.
The Director of the Center, Alexander Bulak, addressed the organizers and participants of the event with a welcoming speech in an online format, and also presented a presentation on the topic “We Preserve Memory. We Are Proud of the Present. We Create the Future!” about the celebratory events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, in which employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources took part.
Also taking part in the round table were the chief forester of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecological Reserve, Sergei Gaponenko, who introduced those present to the presentation “Improvement of monuments and military burials on the territory of the Polesie Reserve” and the deputy chairman of the Brest Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Vadim Olegovich Lagunovsky, with a report on “How Brest was defended during the Great Patriotic War”.
The round table was an important step in strengthening relations between Russia and Belarus and one of the expressions of gratitude to the memory of those who fought against fascism.
