On September 6, 2024, the Action Plan for interaction between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with public associations, the educational institution “Republican Center for Ecology and Local History” and other organizations for the promotion and implementation of environmental initiatives for 2024-2025 was approved. The plan was developed jointly with members of the Public Coordination Environmental Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, agreed upon with the Ministry of Education and all interested parties.
The plan provides for measures for organizational interaction between the Ministry of Natural Resources and the public, creation of conditions for the promotion and implementation of environmental initiatives, including youth initiatives, and information work.
One of the first results of the implementation of the Plan’s activities was a meeting of the pupils of the National Children’s Technopark with the participants of the Belarusian Antarctic Expedition, which took place on September 11 and was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the public association “Belarusian Geographical Society”.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, together with the educational institution “National Children’s Technopark”, is implementing the Roadmap for the development of cooperation in 2024.
Students had the opportunity to learn about life in extreme conditions, about scientific research conducted in Antarctica, and the importance of studying global environmental changes. Participants of polar expeditions shared their unique experiences and talked about the real challenges they face. It is important that the event was not only educational, but also took place in an informal atmosphere with elements of humor.
The exhibition “Living Stones of Antarctica”, presented during the meeting, added a visual component to the knowledge gained, which can also serve as a source of inspiration for young people.
