Andrey Khudyk made a working visit to the Lyakhovichi district of Brest region

Today, the head of the environmental protection agency Andrey Khudyk paid a working visit to the Lyakhovichsky district of the Brest region. The program of the trip includes visiting a number of objects in the region.

The first point of the route was the natural monument of republican significance “Soveiki”, where the Russian investor plans to improve the territory and carry out emergency response work on the buildings. The object is under special control of the Minister: the main task is to preserve this unique natural heritage.

The vast territory of the former Novitsky estate in the village of Soveiki, which has survived to this day, includes an entrance alley, a parterre, an estate house, a pond and a park, the basis of which is maples, lindens, larches, ash trees and chestnuts. The exact date of construction of the estate is unknown. The year 1901 is inscribed on the foundation of the building. Most likely, it was built at the same time as the park was laid out in the 1850s, and the date on the foundation was inscribed during reconstruction.

Andrey Khudyk also visited the recreational and beach area of the city of Lyakhovichi on the Vedma River: the chairman of the Lyakhovichi District Executive Committee asked the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources to assist in clearing the reservoir. The minister promised to help within the scope of the department’s competence and instructed the territorial body of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Brest Region to study this issue in detail, to study the mechanisms for carrying out such work on water bodies without harming the environment.

Another strategically important facility visited by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources during his working visit was the solid municipal waste landfill of the KUMPP ZhKH “Lyakhovichskoye ZhKH”. Andrey Khudyk noted the need to increase the percentage of secondary material resources (SMR) extraction from municipal solid waste (MSW) and to increase the degree of loading of the MSW sorting station at this facility.

The Minister emphasized that today the demand for secondary raw materials is quite high: there are many enterprises that actively purchase secondary raw materials for further use, so there are no problems with the sale of such raw materials. “We are faced with the urgent task of increasing the percentage of secondary raw materials extraction from waste and preventing their disposal at landfills, set by the Head of State and the Government. We are obliged to use all opportunities and make every effort to implement everything planned,” concluded Andrey Khudyk.
