In accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 20, 2020 No. 160 “On the activities of collegial formations”, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is an official assigned to the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of South Africa, Australia and the regions of the Russian Federation – Tomsk Region and the Altai Republic.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan (concurrently) Sergei Terentyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa Igor Bely, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Belarus to Japan and Australia (concurrently) Evgeny Lavrinenko, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Belgospischeprom concern, open joint-stock companies MAZ, MTZ, AMKODOR, Gomselmash, NPO Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the National Agency for Investment and Privatization and others.
Opening the meeting, Andrei Khudyk emphasized the existing clear tasks to increase and diversify the export of Belarusian goods and services to foreign markets, set by the President of Belarus.

“The Head of State paid special attention to the need to occupy our niches in Africa, Latin America and Asia, emphasizing that there is a huge demand for industrial and food products there. Agricultural machinery and equipment are in particular demand in African countries. There is a need to create joint assembly plants for Belarusian machinery in support countries,” the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources emphasized. “Thus, the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Belarus require the implementation of the existing potential for trade and economic cooperation, which, unfortunately, is currently not being used to its full extent.”

During the meeting, it was noted that the indicators reported by the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the rate of export growth are generally being met. At the same time, due to the sanctions policy of the collective West towards our country and domestic business, there are certain difficulties in implementing cooperation in all areas with Australia.
The participants discussed existing achievements, promising areas of cooperation with assigned countries, and also developed solutions to problematic issues in the form of an open dialogue.
